Haniel is the best A-rarity buffer in NTE and requires zero pulls — she is a free pre-registration reward given to all players at account creation. Her unique Hootie ability deploys a companion that continuously applies an ATK buff to the active character, scaling with Haniel’s own ATK stat. This makes your investment in Haniel’s ATK directly rewarding for every character you pair her with.

How to Play

Haniel’s role is clean: deploy Hootie, keep it active, and swap back to your DPS. The buff is persistent rather than a one-shot activation, meaning consistent uptime is more valuable than burst alignment. This simplicity makes her an excellent choice in F2P teams where strict rotation discipline is harder to execute.

How Hootie scales: Hootie’s ATK buff is a flat value derived from Haniel’s own ATK stat. If Haniel has 2,200 ATK, Hootie contributes a proportional flat ATK bonus to whoever it is following. This is why you invest in ATK% for Haniel — it directly converts to DPS gains for your entire team.

Awakening priority:

• A2: Extends Hootie’s duration by 4 seconds — the single most important node. More duration means fewer swap-ins to reactivate Hootie, freeing up time for your DPS.
• A6: Reduces Hootie redeployment cooldown by 4 seconds — together with A2, this creates near-permanent Hootie coverage.
• A5: Further uptime polish.
• A1: Rotation smoothing.
• A3, A4: Low priority; incremental gains on Haniel’s personal skill kit.

With A2 + A6, Hootie uptime approaches 90%+ in most rotations, which is the coverage target for competitive content.

Stat priority: ATK% in every slot you can manage. CRIT Rate is secondary — Haniel does contribute Psyche damage on her own, but her personal DPS is not the point. Reaching 2,200+ ATK is the goal.

F2P Starter: Haniel / Esper Zero / Mint / Chiz. The correct question is how much to invest in her. The answer is: a lot. Because Hootie scales with Haniel’s ATK, every stat point you put into her pays dividends across your entire team lineup.
